Understanding Rental Pricing

Learn about daily rates, deposits, service fees, and how pricing works on Solist.

1Rental Rates

Owners set their own prices, typically offering hourly, daily, and weekly rates. Longer rentals often come with discounts. The rate you see includes the base rental cost for that time period.

Tips
  • Weekly rates are usually 15-30% cheaper than daily rates
  • Some owners offer bundle discounts for multiple items
  • Prices may vary by season for certain equipment

2Security Deposits

Many owners require a security deposit to protect against damage or loss. This amount is held until the item is returned in good condition. Deposits are fully refundable if no issues occur.

Important
  • Deposits are charged when you book, not when approved
  • Refunds typically process within 3-5 business days

3Service Fees

Solist charges a small service fee to cover platform costs, customer support, and protection coverage. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the rental total and is shown before you confirm booking.

Tips
  • The service fee includes basic protection coverage
  • Fees are lower for longer rentals

4Payment & Refunds

We accept all major credit cards and debit cards. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. If you need to cancel, refund policies vary by owner - check the listing details before booking.
