Reading Reviews & Ratings

How to evaluate potential renters or owners based on their reviews.

1Understanding Ratings

Users receive ratings from 1-5 stars after each transaction. Look at the overall rating, but also read individual reviews for context. A 4.8+ rating typically indicates a reliable user.

Tips
  • Look for patterns in reviews, not just the star rating
  • Recent reviews are more relevant than older ones
  • Consider the number of reviews, not just the average

2What to Look For

Good reviews mention communication, punctuality, and item condition. For owners, look for comments about item accuracy and helpfulness. For renters, look for mentions of item care and timely returns.

Important
  • Be cautious of users with no reviews
  • Watch for mentions of late returns or poor communication

3Red Flags

Multiple mentions of items not matching descriptions, late responses, or no-shows are warning signs. Users with sudden drops in ratings may have recent issues worth investigating.

4Review Authenticity

Solist only allows reviews from completed transactions. Reviews cannot be deleted, ensuring authentic feedback. Both parties must complete the transaction to leave reviews.
