Taking Great Photos
Tips for photos that showcase your items and attract more bookings.
1Lighting is Everything
Natural daylight is your best friend. Photograph items near a window or outdoors on an overcast day. Avoid harsh shadows and direct sunlight that can wash out details.
Tips
- Shoot during "golden hour" for warm, flattering light
- Use a white poster board to bounce light onto dark areas
- Avoid overhead fluorescent lighting
2Show Multiple Angles
Include at least 4-5 photos showing the item from different angles. Capture the front, back, sides, and any important details or features. Show the item in use if possible.
Tips
- Include a photo with something for scale
- Photograph any included accessories
- Show any wear or imperfections honestly
3Clean Background
A clean, uncluttered background makes your item stand out. Use a simple backdrop or clean surface. Remove distracting items from the frame.
Important
- •Don't use stock photos - they can get your listing removed
- •Avoid filters that misrepresent the item's color
4Capture Details
Show close-ups of brand names, model numbers, and unique features. For tools and electronics, photograph the power switch, controls, and any wear areas.
